Collaborative Ecosystem for the 6G Industry

National and international partnerships

Many market development initiatives use the term “partnership” in their announcements. The illustration below contains nodes for organizations and 6G projects that refer to partnerships in their communications announcements. The size of each node is an approximation of its relative importance in the 6G industry map. Prominent examples are Bharat 6G Alliance, NGA, SNS-JU, and 6G-IA.

The map’s color-shading scheme applies a geometric envelope to encompass organizations and projects that belong to a common geography.  For example, the envelope for Europe is an irregular triangle, located toward the mid-right side of the illustration with a tip pointing to the center of the map; 6G-IA and SNS-JU, both prominent 6G entities in the 6G ecosystem, are located close to two of the triangle’s vertexes.

Each of the major nations, Germany, India, South Korea, United Kingdom and the United States feature visibly in the map, along with initiatives.

Within individual countries, there are examples of prominent national projects as measured by numbers of participating organizations. Two such examples are the American AI-RAN Stack (upper left of illustration) and the United Kingdom’s JOINER initiative (upper right of illustration).

There is a high degree of overlap between geographic groupings in the central portion of the illustration. This suggests that organizations and initiatives at the center of the image are strongly multi-national.
